Lake Louise, Alberta
The biggest and most well-known resort in Banff, the terrain at Lake Louise is vast and mighty with rocky peaks and forested faces, and is only rivalled by the unmatched postcard-like scenery in every direction.
The resort has 145 marked runs plus its renowned back bowls—an expanse of challenging terrain, peppered with steeps, chutes and cliffs.
Head to the top of the Summit Platter for a one-of-a-kind alpine experience. And you don’t need to be an expert to access the world-class terrain, as each lift has the option of an easy route down.
After the snow melts, venture out on the resort’s hiking trails which range from 1.7 to 3.4 km. Countless more off-resort trails traverse alpine meadows and pass glittering lakes. The sightseeing gondola at Lake Louise offers the best perspective to spot the elusive grizzly bear. The area also has hundreds of kilometres of mountain biking trails, whether you’re a novice looking for a bit of adventure or want to pedal out to an expert backcountry route.
