Kimberley is a low-key resort for those seeking a family trip or an off-the-beaten-track experience.
Rolling cruiser runs compliment some great tree skiing and interesting terrain. If you’re in need of a reasonably priced family ski vacation, with no lift lines, this is your place.
Kimberley can also get some weird little storms and extra snow, when others get little or none.
New for this winter, Kimberley has Men’s Bumps and Brews Ski camps and backcountry trips with Boulder Hut Adventures.
Hit up the backside of the mountain. This less trafficked zone holds powder stashes for days and has some really cool runs including Vortex, a natural half pipe gully in the trees. The Old Bauernhaus Restaurant serves true Bavarian food and is famous for its house-cured meats and cheeses. In the Platzl (downtown) there are some great pubs like the Pedal and Tap, The Shed, as well as the Stonefire Pizzeria restaurant.
In the summer, Kimberley is a golf, bike and fly-fishing mecca. The area has summer festivals, an underground mine train ride and a nature park. There’s also great fly fishing nearby on the St Mary’s river.
