If you’re on Instagram you know that Revelstoke is a mecca for big mountain adventure. Hard to believe the resort is only turning 10 years old this season.
Surrounded by heli and catski operations and boasting North America’s biggest vertical at 1,712 metres, it’s no wonder pro athletes and film crews are drawn to the place.
With 3,121 acres of terrain, five lifts (including a gondola) and up to 14 metres of snowfall add to the already impressive stats. There are some long leg burner runs, but hey, that’s what massage appointments are for. New for this season are an additional 24 gondola cabins and 21 chairs off the Stoke chair. This will increase lift capacity by 25 percent.
Get up the Stoke Chair early on a pow day. Mount Begbie Brewery from town is one of the best craft breweries in B.C. and is well worth a sample while in town. Go heli or catskiing from the resort—you deserve it!
Of course there is also a bunch of summer mountain adventure to be had. “The Pipe – Mountain Coaster” video has gone viral, and it does look super fun. The gondola is open for summer sightseeing, there are ample hiking trails and the accommodation is open in the resort village.
